2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1: Track-Focused Design, Advanced Aerodynamics Deliver Peak Performance

Chevrolet has officially announced the return of the Corvette ZR1, set to redefine American supercar performance when it enters production in 2025. The new ZR1 boasts unprecedented power and advanced technology, challenging the world's top performance vehicles in both coupe and convertible configurations.

Powerhouse Performance

At the heart of the 2025 Corvette ZR1 is a 5.5-litre twin-turbocharged DOHC flat-plane crank V8 engine, dubbed the LT7. This powerplant produces an astounding 1,064 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 828 lb-ft of torque at 6,000 rpm, making it the most powerful V8 ever produced by an American auto manufacturer.

The LT7 engine builds upon the architecture of the Z06's LT6, incorporating significant modifications to handle forced induction. These include unique head castings, valve train optimizations, and a new intake system tuned for twin turbochargers.

Track-Ready Capabilities

Chevrolet estimates the ZR1 will achieve a top speed exceeding 346 km/h on the track and complete the quarter-mile in under 10 seconds. The car's aerodynamic package, available with carbon fibre components, generates over 1,200 pounds of downforce at top speed.

The ZR1's chassis features magnetic ride dampers as standard, with an optional ZTK performance package that adds an aggressive rear wing, front dive planes, and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires for maximum track performance.

Advanced Braking System

A new braking system utilizes carbon ceramic rotors with increased durability and reduced temperatures. The front rotors measure 15.7 inches in diameter, the largest ever fitted to a Corvette.

Iconic Design Elements

The 2025 ZR1 revives the split rear window design, last seen on the C2-generation Corvette. This carbon fibre "spine" serves both aesthetic and functional purposes, enhancing heat extraction from the engine compartment.

Interior Refinements

Inside, the ZR1 features unique badging, a new finishing stitch pattern for the doors, and a boost gauge. New colour options for both exterior and interior will be available, including Competition Yellow, Hysteria Purple, and Sebring Orange.

Pricing and Availability

The 2025 Corvette ZR1 will be built at General Motors' Bowling Green Assembly Plant in Kentucky. Chevrolet has not yet released pricing information or specific availability dates, stating that these details will be shared closer to the start of production.
